Winnie Eilert

Winnie EilertMs. Eilert, who prefers to be addressed as Winnie, was born and raised in southern West Virginia. She attended Marshall University, located in Huntington, West Virginia, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Psychology. She went on to receive her Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati.

Winnie worked as a United States Probation Officer for nearly ten years, during which time she became a FLETC-trained firearms and safety instructor, served on committees dedicated to investigating and supervising special offenders, and assisted with the implementation and operation of a residential substance abuse treatment program. In 2008, Winnie was one of a select group of presenters at a national conference focusing on evidence-based practices in supervising probation clients.

Although she enjoyed her work in probation, Winnie felt her talents were better suited for legal practice, so she moved to Florida to embark on her journey through law school at Florida Coastal School of Law. During her time in law school, Winnie earned the highest grade in her Torts class, resulting in the receipt of a Book Award. She also worked as a Teaching Assistant for a Legal Research and Writing course, served on the executive board of two student organizations, and was a member of the school’s elite Moot Court Honor Board.

Winnie is currently licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Her legal interests include administrative, entertainment, and transactional law. Prior to joining The Edmunds Law Firm, Winnie worked for a dual-certified domestic violence and sexual assault center, where she provided pro bono legal services to victims of violence seeking protective orders against their perpetrators. She also has experience litigating family law, criminal defense, and civil litigation cases; drafting various agreements; and providing advice and counsel to clients regarding business startups and intellectual property matters. Throughout her legal career, Winnie has had the pleasure of working with numerous government employees and active duty military members to resolve their legal disputes.

In her spare time, Winnie enjoys spending time with her family, and attending concerts and sporting events. Winnie is an avid football fan, and she supports the Carolina Panthers and her home team, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
